India News, High Court News : The Punjab government on Saturday withdrew the security of 424 people of Punjab. The Punjab and Haryana High Court on Monday sought reply from the Punjab government on the basis on which the security was withdrawn. Also asked the state how the list of those whose security has been withdrawn has been made public. The Punjab Government will have to inform the High Court by June 2 in a sealed envelope.
The High Court passed the order while processing a petition filed by former Congress Minister OP Soni against the reduction of security. Meanwhile, Akali Dal leader Vir Singh Lopoke has also filed a petition in the High Court against the withdrawal of his security. High Court issues notice to Punjab govt and orders immediate deployment of 2 security personnel to Lopoke.
