Taruni Gandhi, Chandigarh | The police have obtained two days remand of former MLA Joginder Pal of Constituency Bhoa, who was arrested on Friday in an illegal mining case. At the same time, his wife has also been named in this case. The former MLA, while getting his medical done at the Civil Hospital, accused the Punjab government of coercive politics.
The former MLA was arrested on Friday afternoon. On Saturday morning, he was first given medical treatment from the Civil Hospital and then produced in the court of Judicial Magistrate (First Class) Daisy Bangar.
Joginder Pal said that the government is playing vendetta politics with them. The whole matter is politically motivated. All the allegations against him are baseless. The former MLA said that not only his crusher, all the crushers in the village of Maira Kalan and Keedi, and all the shamlats are on the ground. Why was the action taken against him only? He said that before 2012, there was a registry of Shamlat land. If it is closed after that, then what is their fault for that? If it is their fault, then the rest of the crushers should also be caught.
The ex-MLA’s wife is a 25% partner in the crusher
SSP Pathankot Arun Saini said that when the raid was conducted on June 8, it was revealed in the investigation of the Poklen machine that the said machine is in the name of Krishna Crusher. On further investigation, it was found that there are three partners of the said crusher. In this, Joginder Pal himself is a 50 percent shareholder of Crusher, his wife Krishna Devi also had 25 percent participation in this crusher.
Apart from these, the owner of 25 percent stake is Lakshya Mahajan. The SSP said that apart from these, crusher employees Sunil and Prakash have also been named. On the allegations of the former MLA, the SSP said that the police was not working under the pressure of the government. Law is equal for all. Whoever does wrong will be punished.
