After the results of Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, both Mercedes and Lewis Hamilton want FIA Director Michael Masi to step down from his designation.
Team Chiefs and FIA are said to have met in London this week for an hour discussion for several issues.
McLaren Boss Zak Brown has given a statement on Hamilton’s return and that his participation in F1 should not be taken for granted. “I wouldn’t be shocked if Lewis stopped and I don’t think anyone should take for granted that he is coming back,” told Zak Brown who is in contact with Mercedes Team Principal Toto Wolff. Zak Brown further added, “We should not discount or not recognize his frustration and anger and maybe he hasn’t taken a decision yet, and maybe what he is doing is taking time to make that decision. “On Hamilton’s uncertain future, Brown voices, “I don’t think we should rule retirement out or make light of it.”
Currently the FIA have launched an investigation on the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, regarding the Safety car issue which declined Hamilton’s record breaking eighth world championship.
Director Michael Masi is at crossroads in his career after his disputed final race rule bending to put Max Verstappen in front along with Hamilton to race the final lap with an equal position. (Formula 1 Racing 2022)
