Manchester City extends lead after Liverpool draw with Chelsea in thrilling 2-2 encounter : EPL’S Matchday 21 scores, table standings, top scorers, major comebacks, and underdog victories.
On English Premier League’s matchday 21, Manchester City defeats Arsenal in a 2-1 comeback match and extends its table lead further.
Pep Guardiola’s City are now in a comfortable lead after Chelsea and Liverpool drew in Stamford Bridge and both the teams failed to secure three points to stay in the title race.

This draw has been a blow to both the Liverpool and Chelsea fans. After a nail biting first half of four goals the fans expected the two teams to continue their goal scoring streak. Liverpool’s Sadio Mane scored the first goal of the game followed by Mo Salah’s strike with an assist from Trent Alexander Arnold.
Chelsea was dominating the game in possession but were unable to execute their chances. Mateo Kovacic, with an unexpected volley from outside the box brought Chelsea’s entry back into the game.
In the stoppage time of the first half, Chelsea’s Christian Pulisic equalized the game with an assist from N’golo Kante. For the title race, Manchester City are now 10 points ahead from the second team i.e., Chelsea.
Chelsea manager, Thomas Tuchel after rounds of negative comments from striker Romelu Lukaku decided not to put him in the squad for the major match.
Liverpool’s biggest disadvantage in the game was the absence of their Manager, Jurgen Klopp who has recently been tested positive for COVID 19.
Additionally, Liverpool played with alternate Goalkeeper Kelleher after Alisson Becker along with Joel Matip and Roberto Firmino were ruled out of the game due to COVID 19.
Mo Salah is currently EPL’s top scorer after scoring 16 goals in the 2021-22 season.
Another shocking win was for the Brighton side after they defeated Everton in Goodison Park securing their maiden win. Brighton rank 8th in the table bagging a position above League winners like Everton and Leicester City.
Leeds United defeat Burnley by a score of 3-1, placing them in safe position rather than the relegation stage. Other matches resulted in 3-2 for West Ham United defeating Crystal Palace and Brentford outclassing Aston Villa by 2-1.
Tottenham Hotspur with a late header by Davidson Sanchez gave them the 3 points to stay in the Top four race.
